How Chronohaven Came to Be
Chronohaven was founded by Krit Phaisansuthirak, a watchmaker who spent fourteen years at repair benches in Chiang Mai and Zurich before returning to Bangkok. He noticed that most people bringing in watches had little idea what was happening to their piece — work was done, a receipt was handed over, and questions were met with vague assurances.
The atelier on Sukhumvit Road was opened with a different intention. Every watch that comes through is assessed, documented, and returned with a plain account of what was found and what was done. If a part cannot be sourced to a standard Krit is satisfied with, the watch is returned unserviced rather than fitted with something unsuitable.
The business is small on purpose. Chronohaven takes on work it can do well, within a schedule that does not require corners to be cut. Bangkok has no shortage of quick repair counters. Chronohaven is for owners who want something more considered.
In June 2024, the workshop was joined by two additional watchmakers — Nattaya Chaisuwan and Pramot Lertwatana — allowing the atelier to take on heirloom revival work alongside its standard services without extending wait times unduly.

Founder & Lead Watchmaker
Fourteen years at benches in Chiang Mai and Zurich. Specialises in automatic and vintage mechanical movements. Assesses every watch that enters the workshop.
Nattaya Chaisuwan
Watchmaker — Heirloom Revivals
Trained in micro-mechanics and case restoration. Leads the heirloom revival work, with particular attention to original finish and period-appropriate parts sourcing.
Pramot Lertwatana
Watchmaker — Movement Services
Focused on regulation and timing precision. Handles movement tunes and water-resistance assessments, and prepares the timing documentation returned with each service.

Standards the Workshop Holds To
These are not policies we display to reassure visitors. They are how the workshop has operated since it opened.
Watchmaker-Grade Lubricants
Each movement type calls for specific oils. We stock the correct lubricants for the movements we service, not a compromise blend.
Written Assessment First
No work begins without a written assessment shared with the owner. Scope, findings, and price are agreed before the bench touches the movement.
Timing Machine Verification
Every regulated movement is tested on a timing machine before return. Results are noted on the handover documentation.
Pressure-Based Water Testing
Water-resistance assessments use a dry pressure test, not water submersion — a safer method that does not risk the dial or movement during testing.
Parts Transparency
When a part is replaced, you are told what was fitted and where it came from. We do not use components we would not describe to your face.
Secure Watch Handling
All pieces in the workshop are logged, labelled, and stored in individual trays. Nothing shares a tray with another owner's watch.
Mechanical Watch Servicing in Bangkok
Bangkok has a long tradition of horological appreciation. Watches travel through the city as gifts, inheritance, and personal investments in craft. Yet finding a workshop where the work is explained and the pricing is clear has remained harder than it should be.
Chronohaven was set up to address that gap — not by being the largest repair centre in the city, but by being thorough where others are not. The team has serviced pocket watches from the 1920s, daily-wear dive watches, and complicated dress movements. The common thread is careful disassembly, appropriate cleaning methods, and lubrication chosen for the specific calibre.
For Bangkok residents planning travel or water activity, a pre-trip water-resistance check is a sensible precaution. Gaskets degrade in the Thai climate — heat and humidity accelerate rubber breakdown — and a watch labelled water-resistant at manufacture may not hold that rating years later. A check and reseal takes a few days and costs considerably less than movement damage from water ingress.
For owners of inherited watches, the heirloom revival service approaches each piece as a document. Patina that tells the watch's history is preserved where possible. Parts are sourced thoughtfully. The aim is a watch that runs well and still looks like itself — not a refinished replica of the original.
